About Us

The Networks of Inquiry and Innovation (NOII) is a voluntary, inquiry-based network of schools in British Columbia, Canada.  Established in 2000 and funded by the BC Ministry of Education, the NOII is designed to improve the quality and equity of education in BC through inquiry, teamwork across roles, schools and districts, as well as a focus on applying coaching forms of assessment to assist learners to take greater ownership of their learning.

Spiral of Inquiry

Inquiry is about being open to new learning and taking informed action.  The Spiral of Inquiry assists network schools in taking an inquiry-oriented, evidence-based approach to learning and teaching — one that focuses on making the education system more equitable through the provision of high quality learning opportunities for all young people.

NOII Symposium

Thank you to everyone who contributed in making the 2015 NOII Symposium a great success. Held on May 8th & 9th, the Symposium attracted educators from all over BC, as well as the UK and Australia. The theme Passion and Purpose: Making it Real was fitting, with keynote presenters sharing stories of system change, school sessions featuring innovative practice, and thoughtful discussions between peers through flash chats and informal networking.
